I love this summery theme here at the beginning of winter. And winter it is. The temperature on my patio this morning was 47 degrees. That's winter in Southwest Florida, my friends. I even put on socks!

Wow, love what you submitted this week Chris and I can't believe it was 47!! Seems like just yesterday the temps were sweltering!

What do you think it is that makes rose so romantic? Is it their depth perhaps? Is it the pain from the thorns? Who knows. Lovely pictures anyway.

So beautiful! I love flowers and miss having them around now that the weather is cold. And 47 sounds like a heatwave to me now! It was 20 degrees this morning in western PA.

Thank you ladies!

Sharon - I know, right? It was 94 degrees the third week in October. I am loving the cool!

Tammy - Ooh, camellias. How pretty!

WrightStuff - Oh, I think the secret to roses is different for every person. In the eye of the beholder, so to speak.

Luthien - I am going to start branching out, because my default is always flowers. I don't want to bore y'all.

Magpie - I knew my northern friends would laugh (or perhaps sneer) when I mentioned 47 as cold. One of the pluses of FLA is year-round flowers. Although you should see us in Feb or Mar when we get a freeze. We cover all our plants with bedsheets!

Beautiful roses, soft and romantic.

47 degrees? I assume they are fahrenheit, not celsius? ;)

I think 47 fahrenheit is cold too even if I'm fromn Finland ;D

These roses are so beautiful! And the colors fit the theme perfectly!

Ele - Thank you. Yes, that's fahrenheit, and it's chilly for my southern bones, but I would rather be cold than hot, so I love it!

Stephanie - Thank you! Can you believe those are grocery store roses? The florist was closed so I picked them up while I was out getting milk! :-)

beautiful! perfect combo of colors that fit the theme to a T! you answered my question... i was wondering what 47d does to roses!

Pat - Thank you! Actually the roses do fine unless there's a frost. Florida plants are heat and drought tolerant, so they don't do well in a frost. That's when we cover them with sheets. On smaller plants we use old T-shirts!

Beautiful peachy rose. Lovely!
We got into 20's Friday and that's cold for San Antonio! I'm not used to it either. So glad it will get back in the 70's tomorrow:)

Thanks, Charlie! 20's is chilly!
