Life Gets In The Way

Tropicana Rose - Nikon D40

Well, doesn't it just suck when reality screws with your plans to create? My day job has been so stressful and ridiculous lately, I haven't had any energy to work in the evenings when I get home.

Making a living from my art is a dream I will probably never realize, and I'm okay with that. It doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying for it, far from it. But just the process, the joy I get from sitting down to write or picking up the camera, is enough for me. I am grateful for it, and if I never make a penny from it, that's fine.

So, if you'll excuse me, it's my day off and I need to get outside with my Nikon before I lose my light.

I understand how you feel and felt the same way once. Honestly if anyone had asked me five years ago were I saw my self at this time in my life I certainly wouldn't have said working as a jewelry artist in my studio everyday with publications in my resume, who knew!?!
Hold fast to your dreams, you never know what's around the corner and they really DO come true.

I love a dream-come-true story. Congrats on working hard and making it happen!

Hold on to what is good, even if it is a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe, even if it is a tree which stands alone.
Hold on to what you must do, even if it is a long way from here.

Thank you Miss Becky! This is a beautiful poem, and it's going up on my inspiration board right now.
